Is Who In MACUDA Dallas!
There
is no better way of starting our new column that profiles
the various branches of MACUDA America than with our host
of this year's Convention -MACUDA-DFW. This very committed
Mankon men and women are doing things that will forever be
enshrined in our memories as the best way to support MACUDA
America, preserve and promote our values as a people and give
us all that annual chance to come together not just to socialize
but also to celebrate the things that bind us together as
a family. Consider the following, for example:
Dallas Has Taught Us That Mankon Does Not Piggyback!
In
the beginning, there was the Ngemba group. But when non-Mankon
members of the group tried to shove aside everything Mankon,
our brothers and sisters walked out of the Ngemba group. But
they still did not have a MACUDA Branch until Rev. Dr. Sammy
Tabufor returned from the Boston Convention last year with
the news that Dallas will be hosting the 2009 MACUDA Convention.
You would think that such news would scare the people away
from any MACUDA meetings.
Think
again! Instead, Mankon people in Dallas immediately rallied
behind their elder and vowed to meet the challenge that had
come their way. Within a few months, they have not only created
a branch, but they have also elected an executive bureau and
created working committees for the convention, opened a bank
account for the branch, organized a very successful mini-fundraiser
and they are presently, inter alias, in the process of incorporating
the branch. If anybody thinks this is not dynamism, then tell
me what dynamism is! If this is not selflessness, then I don't
know what that word means! If you have ever wondered where
you can find the incarnation of patriotism, then attend Macuda
Convention 2009 and meet the incarnates! Join me in congratulating
the newly elected executive of Macuda Dallas Forth Worth.
