"HOME
AWAY FROM HOME"
A WELCOME
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF MACUDA-AMERICA
Fellow
Mankonian, dear friend,
On behalf of the Mankon Cultural and Development Association
in America (MACUDA-AMERICA), I heartily welcome you to this
website. Your visit to this site is a clear manifestation
of the interest that you have in identifying yourself with
the positive, hospitable, progressive and culturally rich
Mankon community in America.
The village of Mankon is located in the North Western part
of Cameroon in Central Africa. It is host to one of the largest
cities in Cameroon and Mankon people, individually and collectively,
have been at the forefront of the development of their land
and country. They are politically enlightened, commercially
dynamic, socially friendly, educationally sound, economically
self-reliant, and culturally proud and protective. In the
spirit of self-reliance, MACUDA was created in order to rally
all Mankon people, their friends and well-wishers together
for the identification, preservation and promotion of the
values that are dear to our society.
In the above light, and albeit being so far away from home,
MACUDA-AMERICA has made this website available so that it
can serve as the umbilical cord that continues to link us
with our roots. On it, you will be treated to a variety of
features including news and information about Mankon and MACUDA,
MACUDA-AMERICA objectives and events, entertainment, a Mankon
cultural repertoire, and an interactive page that will enable
you to stay forever connected with other Mankon people and
friends around the world.
It is my firm belief that by the end of your tour of this
website, you will be convinced that you have a place within
the MACUDA-AMERICA family.
Dear friend, fellow Mankonian,
We are happy and proud of your visit today. Now is the time
for you to sit back, relax and enjoy your "Home Away
From Home."
May the gods of Mankon and the Almighty bless us all.
Tangyie Elijah Che Munyong-Abieri
